Print on demand, explained: from Etsy order to doorstep

What happens after a buyer clicks purchase, and why you never have to hold stock or post a parcel.

Print on demand means nothing is made until somebody buys it. There is no stock to hold, no minimum run and no parcels to pack. For a poster shop that is the whole point.

What happens when an order lands

  • A buyer orders on your Etsy shop, in any size and frame you offer, at your price.
  • PressRun sends the order to Gelato through the print account you connect.
  • Gelato prints it on archival paper and frames it, using wood frames behind plexiglass.
  • The poster ships direct from production to the buyer.

What you keep an eye on

You do not have to chase any of it. Each order shows its sale price and print cost, and each poster stays in your queue so you can see which ones are live and which have sold.

Your buyers' details

To print and deliver an order, PressRun passes the buyer's name, shipping address and order details from Etsy to Gelato. They are used only to fulfil and track that order. Our privacy policy has the full detail.
